Pamela Marsland, 44, 704 Slocum Drive, was arrested on an arrest warrant Monday afternoon after an investigation of a burglary, a police report with the Alexandria Police Department said.
Officers allegedly found a utility meter in a residence at 150 Sunset Drive. Officers called the utility department which reported that the meter belonged to the residence but had been reported stolen earlier that morning.
Marsland was arrested on a warrant from the Alexandria City Court. During booking at the Rapides Parish Jail, when advised that she would not be charged with possession of stolen property for the meter, the mother allegedly said she would “take the charge” before she let her daughter take the charge for the meter.
Police told Marsland to urge her daughter to talk with the detectives about the stolen meter, the report said.
